Bradford L. Byerley was appointed as the Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Field Division (NOFD) of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in March 2019. As the Special Agent in Charge, he is responsible for eighteen offices in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.

Mr. Byerley has served in many leadership positions throughout his DEA career.  He served as the Associate Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Field Division from October 2018 to March 2019. He served as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Baton Rouge District Office from June 2016 to October 2018, where he was responsible for the offices of Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Monroe, Lafayette and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Mr. Byerley served as Section Chief in the Office of Operations Management Investigation Support Section at DEA Headquarters from October 2015 to June 2016, where he provided leadership and direction to multiple DEA programs.He was assigned as the Unit Chief of the Office of Global Enforcement Executive Support Unit at Headquarters from June 2015 to October 2015.

Mr. Byerley served as Resident Agent in Charge of the Chattanooga Resident Office from March 2011 to June 2015, where he was responsible for a 17 county area in Southeastern Tennessee and 17 counties in Northern Georgia. He served as Group Supervisor of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force at the Albuquerque District Office from March 2009 to March 2011.

Mr. Byerley served as an Assistant Country Attaché at the DEA Vienna Country Office from September 2005 to March 2009, where his primary responsibility was the resident expert on narcotics-related investigations for over 25 foreign drug law enforcement agencies in Europe.

Mr. Byerley began his career with DEA in January 1999 in the St. Louis Field Division. He is a native of Alabama, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as the American Embassies in Beijing, China and Vienna, Austria.
